Jump Start Service in Raleigh, Durham & the Triangle
You turn the key and get a click, a slow groan, or nothing at all. Dead batteries pick the worst moments – the airport lot after a red-eye, the office deck after a late night, a driveway at 6 a.m. Call (919) 230-4498 and Williams Towing Fleet will send a truck to jump-start your vehicle anywhere in Raleigh, Durham, RTP, RDU Airport, Morrisville, Cary, Apex or Holly Springs, 24 hours a day.

We don’t just clamp on and hope. Our drivers carry professional jump packs and the know-how to do it safely on modern vehicles packed with sensitive electronics, including start-stop systems, hybrids and vehicles with the battery hidden in the trunk or under a seat.
What Happens During a Jump Start
- Call (919) 230-4498. Tell us where you are, what you drive and what happens when you try to start it (click, slow crank, dash lights, nothing).
- We locate the battery or jump terminals. Many newer cars have remote jump posts under the hood even when the battery is in the back.
- Safe connection. Positive first, then ground to bare metal away from the battery. We check the voltage before and after.
- Start and verify. Once it fires, the driver checks that the alternator is charging so you don’t stall a mile down the road.
- Plain advice. If the battery is old, swollen or reads low even while charging, we’ll tell you so you can get it tested or replaced before it strands you again.
Why Your Battery Died
A jump gets you going, but it helps to know why it happened:
- Lights or accessories left on – the classic. A jump usually fixes it for good.
- Age – most car batteries last 3–5 years in North Carolina heat. Summer cooks them; the first cold snap in fall exposes it.
- Short trips – a car that only runs ten minutes at a time never fully recharges.
- A failing alternator – if the battery light comes on while driving, or the car dies again right after a jump, the alternator may not be charging. That needs a shop, not another jump.
- Corroded terminals – white or green crust on the posts can block a good connection.
- Sat too long – a car parked at RDU for two weeks, or a second vehicle that rarely moves, slowly drains.
Where We Jump-Start Vehicles

When a Jump Isn’t Enough
Sometimes the battery is too far gone to hold a jump, or the problem is the starter or alternator rather than the battery. When that happens, the same truck can tow your vehicle to your mechanic or a parts store so you’re not stuck waiting twice. If you’re out of gas rather than out of charge, we do fuel delivery too.

Jump Start FAQ
Is it safe to jump-start a hybrid or a car with start-stop?
Yes, when it’s done correctly. Hybrids have a small 12-volt battery that can be jumped; the high-voltage pack is never touched. Start-stop vehicles use AGM batteries that jump normally. Our drivers know where the jump points are on these vehicles.
Can you jump an electric vehicle?
EVs have a 12-volt battery that runs the electronics, and when it dies the car won’t “start” even with a full main pack. We can jump the 12-volt system. If the main battery is empty, we tow the EV on a flatbed to a charger.
How much does a jump start cost?
Call (919) 230-4498 with your location and the dispatcher will quote the price before sending a truck.
Should I replace the battery after a jump?
If it’s more than a few years old, or it died without an obvious reason like lights left on, have it tested soon. Most parts stores test batteries for free.
